We will be using the Notch planting method so gloves, sturdy shoes or boots and if possible your own spade are recommended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ5CDE_Yq6o The trees planted will be native trees, a mix of downy birch, silver birch, rowan, crab apple, holly, hawthorn, hazel, blackthorn, along with spindle and guelder rose shrubs. No matter how large or small, a biodiverse forest provides shelter and food to a multitude of other species. In a healthy forest, you will find biodiversity in the canopy, the forest floor, and the soil. Native fauna has adapted alongside native trees for millennia and are reliant on them for food, breeding sites, and shelter.
Anyone that would like to plant a tree for each of their family members or in memory of a loved one just pop down with a spade! If you don’t have a spade then we can lend you one!! In a few decades, your children can show their grandchildren the trees they planted!!!
