Wicklow County Council Awards – Pride of Place Competition

We were delighted to represent all of our community involved in the wonderful Burnaby Park Sensory Garden, this evening at the Wicklow County Council awards ceremony for the Pride of Place Competition.

The Sensory Garden was one of four awards received by Wicklow at the recent Co-Operation Ireland IPB Pride of Place awards in Armagh, receiving national Runner Up in the Creative Place Initiative category, alongside awards for ReWild Wicklow, Avoca Village and Hollywood Village.

Thank you so much to Cathaoirleach Councillor Aoife Flynn Kennedy, and the Elected Members of Wicklow County Council, also Caroline Fox, Sol Royo Erausquin, Sinead Cassidy and all the members of Greystones Municipal District for their work and support towards this award.

We are so grateful to all who supported and worked on the creation of the Sensory Garden, from Wicklow CoCo, Greystones Municipal District – Wicklow County Council, Triple A Wicklow, Wicklow Inclusive Communities, all who donated their time and expertise working on the garden, all who supported the fundraising work to complete this very special project, and the countless hours from our wonderful volunteers who continue to maintain it every week.
