Heritage Day 2019 at St. Crispin’s Cell

St. Crispin’s 2.30 to 4.30 Saturday 17th. August all Welcome bring a friend! An entertaining & interesting program lined up.

2.30pm  Traditional Music on the pipes to be followed by a repertoire of ballads & popular songs to be performed by Canadh Le Cheile led by Brian Whelan formerly of the Cyclones

3.15pm  An exhibition of artifact’s found during the archaeological dig at St.Crispins to include a narration by David McIlreavy the Archaeologist on site. IAC still holds the objects found & the carbon dating of the bones should be available by that date.

We intend to augment this by mounting a series of photographs of previous finds in the Rathdown Upper & Lower town lands & the antiquities section of the National Museum inform us that they have 42 objects dating back to 1935 representing chance finds.

The days events will also include a children’s painting competition.
